Fellowes Breyta Footrest: Height and Desk Fit Check

The Fellowes Breyta footrest is worth considering when you need a rigid platform with a relatively low setting and a design you can put away. Its detachable legs and carry handle suit a shared home-office space, provided its height and footprint match your setup.

Research-based guide, not a hands-on test. Manufacturer dimensions rechecked October 30, 2026; Amazon model identity was checked October 11. The space-check diagram below is explanatory, not a product photograph.

Which Fellowes Breyta Footrest Is This?

This guide covers the black rigid-platform Breyta, Amazon model 100098566, ASIN B0CWML9PQ7. Fellowes’ US documentation maps that item number to product code 100016562. Do not confuse it with the separate Breyta foam cushion or monitor stand.

Height and Floor Space: Check These First

Manufacturer specificationPublished value
Platform width × depth49 × 36cm (about 19.3 × 14.2 inches)
Height settings7.9 / 11.6 / 12.6cm (about 3.1 / 4.6 / 5.0 inches), including the rocking configuration
Static angle9 degrees
Rocking angle range0–18 degrees
Product weight2.16kg (about 4.8lb)

These figures come from the Fellowes product sheet. Its nominal overall height is listed separately as 9.8cm; that is not an extra adjustment setting. Amazon’s general dimensions differ from the manufacturer’s unit dimensions, so use the documented platform size when planning floor space.

Start with your chair positioned for comfortable typing. Measure the support gap under your feet, then check clearance around chair casters, desk legs and cables. A 49cm-wide platform still needs substantial space; detachable legs make storage easier but do not reduce its working footprint.

Use our under-desk footrest setup guide and desk-height guide before buying. If your feet already rest comfortably on the floor, an additional platform may be unnecessary.

Will a 49cm Platform Fit a 45cm Opening?

Check the space in the orientation you will use

Invented clear opening: 45cm

Published platform width: 49cm

49 − 45 = 4cm too wide.

Original dimension diagram using Fellowes’ 49cm platform width and an invented 45cm opening. The bars share one width scale; they do not draw the product or desk. A centred platform would extend 2cm per side. No physical fit test was performed.

In this orientation, the width alone rules out the example. Removable legs help with storage; they do not narrow the platform during use. A wider opening would clear only this width check: the 36cm depth, chair movement, support height and actual obstructions still need checking. Compare other footrest dimensions and their limits →

Why Consider the Detachable-Leg Design?

The legs clip beneath the platform when stored, and the built-in handle helps when moving it between workspaces. This is useful when your desk also serves another purpose and accessories need to be cleared away. At 2.16kg, however, it is an accessory to carry separately rather than assume it fits a laptop bag.

The textured rigid surface offers a different feel from a foam cushion. Fellowes describes cleaning it with a damp microfibre cloth and avoiding cleaning solutions. Choose a foam option instead if a cushioned surface is your priority.

Where Its Adjustments Fall Short

The published settings are discrete, so this is not a continuously adjustable lift. The sheet distinguishes a static angle from a rocking range; do not treat rocking as a promise of a pedal-lockable angle. Check that your preferred configuration supports your feet without pushing your knees into the desk.

Its 7.9cm lowest setting is nominally below the 3.5-inch minimum of the Kensington SoleMate Comfort in our foam versus adjustable footrest comparison. That difference may help some setups, but it does not establish that Breyta fits everyone or sits lower than compressed foam.

Before Ordering

Confirm the black variant, model, seller and return terms. Fellowes’ US warranty schedule states a five-year limited warranty; Amazon has shown a conflicting seven-year attribute, so confirm applicable coverage rather than relying on that field.

Breyta is a candidate for matching a support gap and simplifying storage. We make no claim that it treats pain or improves circulation. Price, availability and ratings are not quoted here because they can change.
