Office Chair Buying Guide: Compare 5 Models by Fit

Start with the seat height and depth you need. Compare Branch Multitask for simple controls, SIHOO M59AS for a mesh seat and COLAMY ATLAS for a sliding seat. The table separates documented dimensions from checks still needed for a specific seller offer.
Research-based comparison, not hands-on testing. The $300 figure is a spending limit; current Amazon prices, stock and ratings are not quoted.

Start With the Adjustment You Need
| Design / reason to compare | Seat height | Seat depth | First decision |
|---|---|---|---|
| Branch Multitask Simple controls | 18–21.6in (45.7–54.9cm) | 19.4in (49.3cm), published depth | Check whether the minimum height and fixed depth suit you. |
| SIHOO M59AS Mesh seat, folding arms | Range not established in the US reference | 17.13in (43.5cm), published depth | Resolve seat height and storage clearance. |
| COLAMY ATLAS Sliding foam seat | 16.7–21in (42.4–53.3cm), official drawing | 15.8–17.8in (40.1–45.2cm), official drawing | Match the drawing to the selected Amazon revision first. |
Your first step: record your current chair’s working height and usable depth. Compare like-for-like measurements; a shorter published depth alone does not establish better fit.
These are design comparisons, not comfort rankings or claims of pain relief.
1. Branch Multitask: Simple Controls and a Fixed-Depth Seat
Compare it for: a foam seat, mesh back and weight-activated tilt. Branch lists height-, width- and depth-adjustable arms. The seat itself has a published 19.4in depth; do not confuse armrest adjustment with a sliding seat.
Fit numbers: seat height 18–21.6in; depth 19.4in; overall footprint 27.5 × 25in; capacity 275lb. Check the manufacturer specifications against your recorded measurements. A low or short seat requirement may eliminate this design.
The headrest is optional. Branch’s model-specific spec sheet lists a five-year warranty. Its direct-store page describes 30-day returns less return shipping. For an Amazon purchase, check the selected seller’s terms and eligibility under Branch’s authorized-reseller policy; these are not a promise of identical Amazon return terms. The current Amazon model, seller and headrest selection remain unconfirmed.

2. SIHOO M59AS: Mesh Seat and Flip-Up Arms
Compare it for: a mesh sitting surface and arms that fold upward for storage. The US M59AS page lists a 17.13in seat depth, maximum seat width of 19.88in, roughly 28 × 28in footprint and 330lb load limit.
Resolve first: the US reference does not establish the seat-height range for this guide. Check that range and under-desk clearance before ordering. M59AS and padded-seat B100 SE are different models. This is a manufacturer reference; an exact Amazon offer is not confirmed.
3. COLAMY ATLAS: A Sliding Foam Seat
Compare it for: seat-depth adjustment, 4D arms and a four-position tilt lock. This is a foam-seat, mesh-back design. An included retractable footrest has not been verified.
New dimension reference: the official ATLAS page links a manufacturer dimension drawing showing a 16.7–21in seat-height range, 15.8–17.8in depth range and 20in seat width. These are published reference dimensions, not our measurements.
Match the offer: Amazon product details list “Xk-darkgrey” as ASIN B0F2DF783P (part DK-Atlas-Darkgrey) and “Xk01-black” as ASIN B0DNTCVW9R (model name XK01, model number XK-Atlas). Changing the color selection can also change the model. We have not matched the manufacturer’s drawing to either Amazon offer. Confirm the exact model, seat-height range, and seat-depth range for the option you select before relying on the dimensions above.
Warranty and returns: the retrieved Amazon details state a one-year manufacturing-defect warranty, while COLAMY’s policy describes three years for eligible purchases. Confirm which applies to your seller. The brand’s direct-store return policy includes assembly and packaging restrictions; do not assume it guarantees an assembled-chair trial or the same terms on Amazon.

Two listings awaiting fit confirmation: Ticova and Hbada
These remain research notes. Keep them off a purchase shortlist until the missing dimensions or selected revision are resolved.
Ticova · B07PKF7TY9
The listing describes a padded seat, mesh back, adjustable lumbar support and headrest, 3D arms and a 130-degree rocking/recline feature. Its dimension fields do not establish a dependable seat-height range or usable depth. Request a model-specific drawing; a single height value and package dimensions cannot answer those questions.

Hbada flip-up arms · B07QLWTLLN
The black padded-seat listing names J1 but shows model HDNY188BM/US and manufacturer part HDNY155BM/IN. We have not matched its revision to the official J1 drawing. For storage, ask for the remaining height with arms raised and check the base width against the desk opening.
See why the measurements change the shortlist
Invented reference: a reader has found a workable 44cm seat height and 43cm usable depth. These are example measurements, not targets for your body. Here is how one real model’s published dimensions compare.
Branch Multitask: published numbers vs this reference
Bar scale: 0–55cm. Green = invented reference; brown = manufacturer specification. Bar lengths show dimensions, not comfort scores.
What this tells this reader: the published minimum is 1.72cm higher than the height reference, and the published depth is about 6.28cm longer. The numbers do not establish a match. Ask how usable dimensions were measured and compare a documented alternative; do not assume cushion compression or another feature will remove the differences.
Your measurements are different? That changes the decision. A 48cm height reference falls within the published 45.72–54.86cm height range; it only clears that numerical screen. Depth, back support, arm clearance and a seated trial still matter. Record a comparable reference first →
Research dates, price limits and testing scope
Model and dimension references reviewed: November 2, 2026; Branch and COLAMY model and policy checks updated November 3, 2026. We have not physically tested these chairs. This is a comparison of documented designs and purchase checks, not a comfort ranking. Current prices and availability have not been verified for every Amazon offer, so this page does not promise that every model costs less than $300. Set your own delivered spending limit, including shipping, tax, and required accessories, and check the selected offer before ordering.
Can You Choose One With a $300 Budget?
Use $300 as your spending ceiling, not as a verified price label for this list. Compare the selected chair, required accessories, shipping and tax at checkout. If the delivered total exceeds your limit, remove that offer from your shortlist rather than assuming a sale or coupon will apply.
Before paying, confirm assembled-return eligibility, who pays return shipping and which packaging you must keep.
A Five-Measurement Checklist Before Ordering
Use a chair you already own as a reference. Record what fits and what needs to change, then compare the actual adjustment ranges rather than the number of advertised features.
- Seat height: Find a working height that lets you reach the keyboard with relaxed shoulders and supported feet. Check the chair’s minimum as well as maximum.
- Usable seat depth: Sit against the backrest and leave clearance behind your knees. Ask whether a listed dimension describes the cushion, frame, or packaging.
- Seat width: Measure the usable area between the arms, not the chair’s total width.
- Desk clearance: Include the apron, drawers, armrests, base, and movement space.
- Return cost: Find out whether an assembled chair can be returned, who pays shipping, and what packaging must be kept.
OSHA’s chair guidance explains the relationship between seat fit, back support, armrests, and workstation adjustment. Our office-chair selection guide expands those checks. If you raise the chair to match a fixed desk, use our footrest setup guide to assess foot support and clearance.
Should You Replace Your Current Chair?
Start with adjustments and the condition of the existing chair. A compatible replacement part may make sense for a serviceable chair; a damaged frame or unstable base needs a different response. Our repair-or-replace guide explains the checks. Our chair-price comparison guide separates useful adjustments from price alone.
For a purchase, eliminate models whose measurements, selected variant, delivered cost, or return terms remain unclear. That is a more useful decision than treating a generic “best overall” label as a promise of comfort.
